This is Wolfgang, an Alpha male Timber Wolf. He resided at Wolf Park, in Battle Ground, Indiana. Wolf Park is a safe haven for Wolves where they are cared for and protected from hunters. It also focuses on research and education, studying behaviour to assist researchers in the wild, whilst teaching thousands of visitors about the importance of predators and the ecosystem.
Wolfgang’s piercing eyes compelled me to try painting, before this I had made haphazard attempts, not believing it was possible for me to paint the same way I could draw. Wolfgang changed all of that for me. I sat with a blank canvas, my muse staring out at me from my computer (all legal permissions granted from Monty Sloan at Wolf Park) and I put paint to canvas. This emerged, it was my proudest moment as far as my Art was concerned. This was the foundations I built my Art practice upon. Wolfgang will always be special to me.
I donate 10% of all my Wolf art sales to Wolf Park. If you buy a piece from this collection, you will be helping conservation and education of these magnificent beasts. Thank you.
